Machine and Deep Learning with MATLAB

Artificial Intelligence techniques like machine learning and deep learning are techniques that teach computers to do what comes naturally to humans and animals: learn from experience. These algorithms use computational methods to “learn” information directly from data without relying on a predetermined equation as a model. In this hands-on workshop, you will use MATLAB to build and train models for machine learning and deep learning.

Agenda:

• Learn the fundamentals of machine learning and understand terms like “supervised learning”, “feature extraction”, and “hyperparameter tuning”
• Build and evaluate machine learning models for classification and regression
• Train deep neural networks on GPUs in the cloud
• Create deep learning models from scratch
• Explore pretrained models and use transfer learning

Instructor: Reece Teramoto (MathWorks)

Prerequisites:

• Familiarity with MATLAB. If you are new to MATLAB, please complete this free 2-hour web-based MATLAB Onramp tutorial.
• Google Chrome web browser
• A MathWorks Account (if you don’t already have one, please go here to create one)

Software: We’ll be running MATLAB in a browser.
